it is a rebadged Dacia.

one of only 2 markets where it is built in RHD , the other being India.

Not sure what date they’re referring to, it’s not even a public holiday. Independence from Britain was in May but the end of Apartheid was April 27 1994.

There has been some amazing Landies from around the world from Spain’s Santana leaf sprung Defender 90 and 110, to Australia’s Perenties which were both widened and lengthened and used an Isuzu 3.9litre diesel engine.

Add the short lived Belgian Minerva and German Tempo built from CKD units to the rare and one offs like the Agrover, Centaurs, etc... it makes for some very interesting reading.
